Today I suggest a simple yet beautiful table centerpiece: roses in water. I´ve seen these a few times and they always look great. You only need a couple of long stem roses and a long vase with water to arrange this beautifully. Add a round mirror as the base with a few crystals and tea lights and you are set to go! If you want to make it even simpler, put the roses floating on the water on a small round vase, as shown in the photo below.

Simple y elegante, sólo necesitas dos rosas de tallo largo, un jarrón de cristal alargado con agua y en la base un espejo redondo con cristales y velitas...y taráa! ya está! Un centro espectacular para las mesas de tu boda. Si lo quieres más sencillo todavía, pon las rosas flotando en un jarroncito redondo y pequeñito, como en la foto.

After a mild month of December and a pleasant January, the winter has finally arrived to Mallorca. Thanks to the Siberian cold storm, last weekend we were able to enjoy snow like we have never seen before. Is this Colorado or what? Actually it was 1956 the last time it snowed big time like this. Of course my little girls could not wait to get out on the terrace and play on the snow. Also, check out the view from our balcony!
Todos los que vivis en Mallorca habreis disfrutado este fin de semana de la espectacular nevada, que parecía más bien como estar en Colorado o en los Pirineos (mira la vista de los pinos desde nuestro balcón). Happy Monday! I´ll start the week with my new chapter on Wedding Inspirations. This time I´m thinking about something sweet and yummy, and my personal favourite on the wedding menu: desserts!
Having attended so many weddings, I couldn´t help but notice this trend: dessert buffets. Here I show you a few examples. Guests love them and all the little different cupcakes, sorbets, chocolate mousse, etc look really great on the photos. Check out the little Bride and Groom on the top of the cake. I love these! And they are an exact replica of the real ones, with exactly the same dress, hair piece and all. Cute!

Lo dulce me pierde, como a muchos de nosotros, y sobretodo cuando se presenta de esta manera tan bonita, variada y original. Me encanta la variedad, todo en miniatura: desde pastel de manzana, cupcakes, mousse de chocolate... No os perdais las pequeñas figuras de novios encima del pastel, es una réplica exacta de los novios. Me encantó que estas figuritas iban vestidas exactamente iguales, con la diadema de flores de la novia y todo. Rico, rico,rico!

Hi! This is the first of a series of wedding inspiration ideas I´m going to show you. Having attended so many weddings has almost transformed me into a professional wedding planner! No, I was just kidding, I´ll stick to Photography as my day job. However, I have so many beautiful photos with decorations and original ideas that I thought some of you would be interested to see. Most of the ideas are inexpensive but different and will set you apart from your friends weddings!
This week I´ll start with this cute idea from Sophie and Mark´s wedding at Son Marroig, Deià, which was beautifully planned by M-Moments. They made a gorgeous welcoming garland made with the couple´s own photos, mostly from when they were little. It´s cheap and chic, and it also made for a nice photo background.

It was so much fun to have a bride that actually didn´t care about trashing her dress! She walked barefoot around the village because her shoes were pinching her feet and her dress got a bit dirty because the streets were still wet from the rain. I love how relaxed Ekaterina and Dmitri, a Russian couple, look on the photos. 
As per the New Year, I wish you much happiness and ´ll just share my motto with you: "Don´t sweat the small stuff ... and it´s all small stuff"

Mi pequeña Claudia, que ya tiene casi 3 años, es muy coqueta y le encanta ponerse vestidos. Siempre que saco la camara se pone algo seria y me cuesta sacarle una sonrisa no forzada, pero esta monisima con su disfraz de Campanilla! Aqui abajo os muestro un par de fotos que hice en el jardin de casa.
Mi little Claudia, who is almost 3 years now, loves to dress up in pretty fairy costumes. She looked adorable last weekend when we played at home so I could not help to take a few shots. She is soooo cute!

Fornalutx y Sóller, dos de los pueblos con más encanto de Mallorca, fueron el escenario de la preciosa boda de Marie y Bastien. Aunque los novios son Parisinos, Bastien tiene lazos familiares en Fornalutx, por lo que se decidieron a celebrar su gran día en Mallorca. La boda fue en el Ayuntamiento de Fornalutx por la mañana y por la tarde en el Gran Hotel de Sóller. Aparte del gran calor que hacía, esto fue la perfecta excusa para cambiarse de traje y lucir nuevo look por la tarde. Todo muy chic y muy francés-mallorquín. Gracias Marie y Bastien por permitirme compartir este día tan especial con vosotros! 
Fornalutx and Sóller, some of the most charming villages in Mallorca, were the idyllic setting for Marie and Bastien´s wedding. This lovely French couple live in Paris but Bastien has family ties in Fornalutx and this is why they decided to celebrate their big day in Mallorca. The civil ceremony was held at Fornalutx Town Hall in the morning and then the reception at the beautiful Gran Hotel de Sóller. Apart from the intense heat, this was the perfect excuse to change outfits and get a new look for the evening reception. All in all, a very chic French-Mallorcan wedding with loads of style. Thanks Marie and Bastien for allowing me to share your special day with you and your family!

Ekaterina y Dmitri son una pareja rusa muy divertida que se enamoraron del precioso pueblo de Valldemossa así que esa fue nuestra localización para la sesión de fotos. Ellos trajeron su propio champagne y cestita de picnic así que lo pasamos fenomenal paseando por el pueblo, tanto que Ekaterina se descalzó a media sesión y no le importó nada ensuciarse el vestido y los pies. Me encanta lo relajadas que han quedado las fotos. Gracias Ekaterina y Dmitri por permitirme compartir este rato con vostros, os deseo todo lo mejor! PD: Gracias por la botella de Moët- Chandon!
Ekaternia & Dmitri are a fun Russian couple who fell in love wih the charming little village of Valldemossa, and so were insistent in having their photo session there. They brought their own little picnic basket and some champagne so we had a lot of fun. Mid-session Ekaterina was uncomfortable in her heels so she bravely decided to continue barefoot. I love how relaxed the photos look! Ekaterina & Dmitri, thanks for such a lovely time, I wish you all the happiness in the future! PS: Thanks for the Moët-Chandon bottle!

Volviendo a la fantástica boda de Ksenia y Charles, no puedo evitar enseñaros algunas fotos más, ya que la boda fue preciosa. Combina una novia rusa alta y rubia, guapisima como una modelo, y un simpatiquisimo caballero escocés con su kilt y todos los accesorios (gaita incluida). Luego agrega algunas tradiciones rusas como "the fetching of the bride" algo así como ir a buscar a la novia, pagando durante el camino si no consigues superar una serie de pruebas... y al final, el novio consigue llegar a la habitación de la novia, y la tiene que buscar. Y adivina dónde estaba la novia? en el armario escondida, asi que una juerga en la habitación... también os enseño algunas fotos de las mesas, que me parecieron preciosas. Por cierto, la boda la organizó con mucho éxito Mandy Lago de Alago Events.
Going back to Ksenia & Charles´s gorgeous wedding, I cannot help but show you a little bit more. It was super fun, imagine a tall blonde Russian bride, gorgeous as a model, and a super fun Scottish gentleman with kilt and all the accessories (bagpipe included!) and some interesting Russian traditions. For example, the "fetching of the bride" which I show you below. The groom has to play some games and pay money if he losses, in order to get to his bride. He has to sing, dance, etc and when he does get to the bridal suite, guess where the bride is? Hiding in the wardrobe! The resulting images are so much fun. I also include a few from the table decorations, which were also beautiful. All in all, an unforgettable day. Mandy Lago at Alago Events did a great job planning the wedding. 

La boda de Ksenia y Charles fue preciosa, pero una de las cosas que más me llamaron la atención fue que el "theme" de la boda era el ganchillo. En todas las decoraciones florales y de las mesas, incluyendo el ramo de la novia, habían detalles de ganchillo. Me pareció de lo más novedoso esta combinación así que aquí os muestro unas fotos por si buscais inspiración para vuestra boda.
Ksenia & Charles´wedding was absolutely gorgeous, but one of the things that caught my eye the most was that the theme was crochet. It was everywhere, in the church flowers, the bouquet, in the chill out are on the tables... I thought it was a very original touch. Here you can get some inspiration. 

Julia y Stephan decidieron casarse en Mallorca a pesar de vivir en Florida! Julia pasó parte de su infancia en Mallorca y tenía muy claro que era aquí donde quería celebrar este día tan especial. Me encantó compartir este día con esta pareja tan relajada y divertida! Por cierto, Julia y Stefan se casaron en la Seu de Palma de Mallorca y luego el banquete fue en el Hotel Hilton Sa Torre.
Julia & Stephan decided to get married here in Mallorca, despite living in sunny Florida! Julia spent time on this beautiful island during her childhood and was convinced this was the best place to celebrate her special day. They made such an easy-going couple, it was my pleasure sharing your big day with you! The ceremony was held at the impressive Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca and the reception was at the beautiful Hotel Hilton Sa Torre.

Este verano tuve el placer de fotografiar a Katerina Bravve, una modelo rusa de vacaciones en Mallorca. Me llamó a último minuto para una sesión express y algo improvisada, por lo que tuve muy poca luz natural. Me pareció guapísima así que aquí os enseño un par de fotos de mis favoritas. Seguro que será la próxima Top Model rusa!
Last summer I had the chance to photograph gorgeous Katerina Bravve, a model from Russia, who was holidaying in Mallorca. She called me at the last minute for a quick and somewhat improvised photo session. This is why I had such little light to play with. However, she looked gorgeous and I´m sure she´ll be the next Russian Top Model!

Fotografiar bebés es siempre algo complicado, aunque en el caso del adorable y guapísimo Quinn eso fue una excepción ya que estuvo todo el tiempo simpatiquísimo y muy sonriente. Quinn ha cumplido los 6 meses y tiene unos preciosos ojos azules, a que es una monada? Su hermano Connor, de 4 años, a quien tuvimos que sobornar con una buena ración de golosinas, también posó pacientemente para mí.
Photographing babies is always a challenge, as you know, not in the case of the adorable and super cute baby Quinn, who is now 6 months old and has amazing blue eyes. During the time I spent with him, he was always smiley and is such a happy little person, it was delightful, take a look at some of his best photos. His older brother Connor, who is now 4, had to be bribed with some candies to pose for me. It worked, didn´t it?

Hola! Jane y James por fin se casaron! Y digo por fin porque con todo esto del volcán de nombre impronunciable, lo hicieron por los pelos. Me alegro que al final todo salió a pedir de boca, incluso el tiempo fue magnífico. El Hotel Son Brull en Pollensa fue el lugar elegido. Aquí podeis ver algunas de mis fotos favoritas. Esta es mi primera boda de la temporada (yuuuhuuu!!). Rob & Anna se casaron en una ceremonia muy muy íntima en la capilla de Portals Nous, y luego la celebración en el Hotel Melià de Mar, que ha sido redecorado y la verdad es que ha quedado muy moderno. Una de las cosas que más me gusta de mi trabajo es conocer gente de todas las nacionalidades, y asi fue en esta ocasión: Anna, dulce y muy fotogénica, es de Ucrania y me recordaba un poco a su tocaya Anna Kournikova, hasta en la trenza! Rob es de Canadá y es increíble el esfuerzo que han hecho para venir a casarse a Mallorca. Aquí teneis una pequeña muestra de las fotos, que he retocado con algún efecto diferente, sólo por diversión.
This is my first wedding of the season and I was very much looking to it. One of the great things about my job (and living in a place like Mallorca) is that I get o meet people from around the world: Rob from Canada, and Anna from Ukraine. She reminded me of the tennis player Anna Kournikova, as she was pretty and blond, and even wore a braid! The very intimate ceremony was held at the church of Portals Nous (Mallorca) and the reception was at the Hotel Melià de Mar, a hotel just renovated with its own private beach. Here is a sample, some photos have a special effect that I have added just for fun.

1-Pick a dress that suits your personality and figure. It´s also important to pick a dress that matches the overall style, theme and venue of the wedding. For example, a bohemian dress will match better a country style wedding rather than an oppulent French castle wedding. Finally, your dress and shoes should be comfortable enough for you to move and walk around effortlessly. You´ll thank me when you are dancing!
2-Get a good hairdresser to cut and colour your hair a few weeks before the wedding. This way if anything bad happened, you would still have a couple of weeks to fix it! And if possible, do a trial beforehand so you know exactly how it will look on the day. Hairdressers can delay the whole wedding if they don´t work on schedule. I´ve seen it many times and then your whole day planning goes to the bin. Ask your hairdresser to be on time and finish on time!
3-Have a good facial done a couple of days before the wedding. Also, a chemical peel by a good dermatologist can work wonders. Make sure though, you allow a few days for any side effects to go away! You don´t want to look like beef carpaccio!
4-Your make up artist should make you look like yourself, but radiant. Stay away from caked make up. It shows! Especially in Mallorca, in the summer the heat is so intense that all your make up will be ruined in 20 mins. Natural looking make up is best, avoiding too much sparkly, disco party look. A dewy foundation is nice too, since too much matt make up can also look fake. Eyes soft and natural lips.
5-Careful with sun burns! And with those red lobster looks! Especially on face and chest areas. Nothing could look worse on the photos, and it´s very time consuming to fix with Photoshop! Some fake tan like St. tropez will do the trick instead.Take care of your body skin too. A little sparkly body powder looks nice too. Some are also scented. Of course some good moisturising beforehand is imperative too. If you have a visible tattoo it´s not a bad idea to ask the make up artist to cover it.
6-Get a mani-pedi on the morning of your wedding or the day before. Avoid anything extravagant such as red enamel or long acrylic nails if possible. The result should be natural.
7- Don´t hide behind your flower bouquet. Pick a design that suits your size, for example, avoid long stems if you are short. Also, ask for a style that´s simple, not too heavy and easy to carry.
8-On your wedding day, keep a good posture, with shoulders back, and when posing, keep your elbows separate from your body. This way your arms will look slimmer. If you have heavy arms and are wearing a strapless dress, use your veil to hide them.
9- Be romantic! Be sure to show lots of public displays of affection (PDA) on your wedding day.Some couples tend to be so busy and excited about their wedding day that they forget to show each other how in love they are and how happy they are to be getting married. I like to capture real emotions, so be sure to help out by being sexy and romantic…show a little PDA!You don’t have to go overboard with poses, but simple things like holding hands and kisses on the cheek provide great material. Don’t be shy…have fun and enjoy it!
10-The day before your wedding, relax and de-stress. These last 12 months of preparations have been exhausting! Spend the day by the pool, or in the spa with your bridesmaids, having a nice ayurvedic massage with oils and spices. Sounds good? On your day, don´t get nervous about your photography. Enjoy your day, relax, have fun, smile…and I'll do the rest!

     1-Elige un vestido que vaya acorde con tu personalidad y figura. El estilo del vestido también debe ir con la temática y estilo de tu boda. Por ejemplo, si te casas en el campo, no escojas un vestido de princesa, o si te casa en la playa, elige un modelo ligero y más sencillo. Además, tu vestido debería ser relativamente cómodo y fácil de llevar, con el cual puedas caminar y moverte sin problemas. Me lo agradecerás durante el baile!
2-Escoge un buen peluquero que te asesore en el peinado que mejor te siente y que vaya acorde con tu look. Haz una prueba con antelación y cortate y colorea tu cabello con suficiente antelación en caso de no gustarte el resultado. No te arriesgues demasiado con looks nuevos o diferentes.
3- Hacerse un tratamiento facial también es recomendable para lucir una piel radiante. Prueba a hacerte un peeling con un buen dermatólogo. Pero ojo, cuidado con los efectos secundarios, no queremos que tu cara parezca un carpaccio de ternera! Te acuerdas lo que le pasó a Samantha en Sexo en Nueva York?
4-El maquillaje debe ser natural. La idea es lucir una cara radiante pero siendo tú misma. Aléjate de las bases muy cubrientes y espesas, tipo máscara. En verano, con el calor que hace en Mallorca, en 20 mins estarás sudando así que usa maquillajes fluidos y ligeros, con labios y ojos suaves, enfatizando tus mejores rasgos. El maquillaje demasiado mate también resulta algo antinatural.  Lleva siempre un lipgloss a mano para ir retocándote durante el día.
5-Cuidado con el sol! Broncéate con cuidado y con mucha protección, evitando quedar muy rojo, no podría haber nada peor para las fotos! El bronceado artificial tipo Saint Tropez también queda bien si lo sabes aplicar. Usa una buena crema hidratante y algo de polvos para el cuerpo con brillo. Si llevas tatuajes en la zona de los hombros, pide a tu maquilladora que te lo tape.
6-Hazte una manicura y pedicura, evitando las uñas artificiales demasiado largas y los colores estridentes. La manicura francesa es perfecta.
7-No dejes que tu ramo de flores capte toda la atención. El ramo no debe tapar tu figura por completo así que escoge uno de un tamaño y forma acorde con tu figura. Por ejemplo, evita tallos largos si eres bajita. Además, es mejor si tu ramo es ligero y fácil de llevar.
8-Intenta mantener una buena postura, hombros atrás y la espalda recta, como te decía tu abuela. Para las fotos intenta no pegar los brazos al cuerpo y asi parecerá que tienes los brazos más delgados. Si tienes brazos gruesos, prueba a taparte los hombros con el velo.
9- Sé romántica! No tengas miedo a dar muestras de afecto en público. Algunas parejas están tan ocupadas y liadas con todo lo que pasa durante el día que se olvidan de demostrar lo enamorados que están y lo felices que están de estar casados. Me gusta capturar emociones genuinas, así que pon de tu parte siendo sexy y romántica…cosas simples como cogerse de la mano, besos en la mejilla, serán buen material para el álbum. No seais tímidos, pasadlo bien y divertiros! 
10-  El día antes de tu boda en Mallorca, relájate y déjate llevar. Pasa el día en el spa con tus amigas o con tu novio y familia de excursión o en la playa. Los últimos doce meses de preparación han sido agotadores! Finalmente, el día de tu boda, disfrútalo! No te pongas nerviosa por las fotos, relájate, sonríe y diviértete…y yo haré el resto!

Marilén y Edu vinieron al estudio porque querían unas fotos bonitas de pareja para regalar. Después de realizar un par de fotos tradicionales (para no asustar a la abuela..) les convencí de que se quitasen los tops. Que os parece?
Marilén and Edu came to my studio for some nice couple photos to give as a present for their families. Once done the most traditional ones I convinced them to add some spice up. I think it was worth it, wasn´t it? 

Trilogía de chocolate, guirlache con couli de frutos del bosque, profiteroles caramelizados, mmmm...Hay muchos motivos por los que adoro los pasteles de boda, entre otros, porque soy muuuyyy golosa y además son muy coloridos, elegantes, floreados y divertidos. Chicos, a ver si con esta pequeña selección que os muestro os animais a rescatar esta tradición, para que deis un toque de estilo a vuestra boda. En versión modernizada podeis incluir pastelitos individuales, tarta de cupcakes, añadir perlas incrustadas, flores...las posibilidades son infinitas!

Jane y James se casan el 24 de Abril en el precioso Hotel Son Brull de Pollensa. El fin de semana pasado, aprovechando una visita fugaz a Palma (ellos viven en Londres), les fotografié alrededor de la catedral. Me encantó su naturalidad y estilo relajado y divertido, así que tengo muchas ganas de fotografiar su boda. Seguro que será preciosa y espero que de mucho juego....
Jane & James are a fab couple from London getting married next 24th April at Hotel Son Brull in Pollensa, Mallorca. Last weekend they were in Palma so I photographed them around the cathedral for a couple´s session (or "pre-engagement session"). They were relaxed, happy and fun, as you can see in the photos below.
